Happy New Year beauties, I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season!
To start off the year, I tried out the elf beauty book, a palette of 48 eyeshadows - this would be a perfect new addition to any makeup collection to use to create different looks throughout the whole year!
I decided to do a soft purple smokey eye, to try and bring out the green tones in my eyes. The range of colours in the palette is amazing, I love that there are so many different shades for each colour, and the pigmentation is really good!
To start off, I didn't use any eyeshadow base, just my elf primer followed by foundation and powder.
To create my smokey eye, I used the palest purple shade all over my lids and right up to my brow bone. I then took the darkest purple on a small angled brush and created a cut crease, which I blended out to give a softer smokey effect. I found that these shadows blended super smoothly, I had no trouble at all getting them to fade into each other.
Next, I used a shimmery charcoal shadow to slightly darken my crease, before using a few of the mid toned purple shades to soften the crease over my lids. I finished with black liquid eyeliner and plenty of mascara to give definition.
This palette could be used for so many different styles, I can't wait to try it out on my best friends blue eyes! I am sure I will be using it plenty over the months to come!
Have a great week girls!
