Jess reviews ... Studio Single Eyeshadow

Hello gorgeous ladies! This week I played around with the elf studio single eyeshadows in Pebble and Amethyst.

I found that the eyeshadows were reasonably well pigmented and very easy to apply and blend. I got minimal drop down while I was working, and I loved how the colours worked together!  The swatch photos on the elf Australia website are almost identical to the products in real life, so by looking at the swatches I was able to see that the colours I chose would work well together, which was fantastic because nothing is worse than thinking two colours will be complimentary, only to be surprised with totally different shades in person!

Before using the eyeshadows, I used primer and foundation on my eyelids, which I then set with translucent powder, to help the shadows stay put.  To create the purplish-shadowy smokey eye, I blended Amethyst into my crease using an eyeshadow C brush, followed by Pebble, which I blended out to give a smokey effect. I then ran the brush along my lower lash line to balance out the look. I finished off with gel eyeliner on both my upper and lower waterline, and upper and lower lash line, which I went back over with liquid eyeliner to really set the gel in place.

I will definitely be trialling the studio single shadows in some more colours in the future, I really loved how easy they are to blend and how little they drop down they gave!

Hope you like the look - let me know if there are any particular products you would like me to review?

Have a good week!
